History

From Brent Erdmann: "The New London Bulldog dates back to the 1920's. At the time School Sports were not that big so club teams were established, One was Football, The team had no nickname & very little success until a young boy started bringing his pet Bulldog named Percy to the games. The team had found success over the next couple of years and believed it was the young boys pet Bulldog, hence the Nickname Washington Bulldogs was born in 1931, which was the year Washington Sr High School opened. In 1966 New London Sr High School opened and became the New London Bulldogs which it has been known since. A picture of the young lad & his dog & this story hangs in the Bulldog Hall of Fame at New London High School."
