I got my start in sports: playing tee-ball, basketball and flag football in first grade and watching my uncle, Ben, play in high school.
I wish I could play: hockey.
Baseball highlights: four-time letterwinner … started at second base as a freshman and moved to catcher as a sophomore where he was a three-year starter … Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association all-district honorable mention and Central Wisconsin 10 Conference first-team selection and named team’s co-Most Valuable Player as a senior … co-captain as a senior … named first-team all-conference, team MVP and team batting champion as a junior … earned all-conference honorable mention recognition as a freshman.
2009 stats: Started all 29 games and batted .443 (31-for-70) with five doubles, four triples, one home run, 43 runs scored, 26 RBI, 12 walks and 23 stolen bases … had .671 slugging percentage.
2009 team highlights: Mustangs won WIAA Division 4 state championship with 27-2 record and shared conference title with 17-1 record.
Other sports honors: three-time letterwinner and three-year starter at linebacker in football … earned first-team all-conference honors, was named team’s Most Valuable Player on defense and a co-captain as a senior … three-time letterwinner and starting shooting guard in basketball as a senior … co-captain and Defensive MVP as a senior … earned team’s Hustle Award as a junior.
