-The last time WSN checked in with Shiocton offensive lineman/defensive lineman
Brock Pahlow (6-4, 285), he had primarily been receiving Division III interest from such schools as Carroll University, Lawrence University, Lakeland College and St. Norbert College.
Fast forward a month a half and things really appear to have taken off.
“Wisconsin wants me to come and meet their coaches and watch their game against Michigan, which is really cool,” Pahlow said Sunday.
“Michigan Tech wants me to come up in December and tour around their campus and football areas. Minnesota State-Mankato's head coach has contacted me frequently as well. UW-Stout also has talked to me a lot and has been really supportive through the season.
“It's really a confidence booster to get calls and e-mails from colleges all over the place, especially the Division I and Division II colleges,” Pahlow explained.
Pahlow received a 55.98 SPARQ rating after recording a 5.94-second 40-yard dash, 5.22-second shuttle, 21.1-inch vertical jump and 35-foot kneeling powerball toss at the Eastbay SPARQ Football Camp held back in June.
-Tomah running back
Joel Sweeney (6-2, 220) could soon be garnering his first scholarship offer thanks to recruiting looks coming from North Dakota State, Minnesota State-Mankato, St. Cloud State and UW-Whitewater.
Sweeney was named
La Crosse Tribune second-team all-area, first-team all-conference and the Mississippi Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2007.
He then totaled 202 carries for 1,290 yards and 19 touchdowns in route to Associated Press honorable-mention all-state, WFCA all-region,
La Crosse Tribune first-team all-area and first-team all-conference honors last season.
Sweeney had 299 carries for 1,846 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior this season.
-Westfield Area fullback/linebacker
Nic Grant (6-1, 246) continues to receive recruiting interest from Division I's North Dakota State and Northern Iowa as well as Division III UW-Whitewater.
Ranked as the No. 2 fullback in the class of 2010 by WSN, Grant was a second-team all-conference fullback and honorable-mention all-conference linebacker as a junior.
