*I’d like to note that I have posted several scoring statistics below and its important for parents and players to understand that hockey is the ultimate “team” game where winning (and fun) is superior to personal achievement. The Madison Elites have dominated the division and boast an impressive 12-1-3 record. Forwards Trevor Hoth (Stoughton), Brett Skibba (Middleton) and Cameron Brown (Edgewood) currently lead the league in scoring. Hoth has been on fire all fall, scoring 22 goals, 13 assists, for 35 points in 15 games. Skibba’s stat line (15 goals, 8 assists, for 23 points) is just as impressive considering he has been injured, called up to Team Wisconsin and limited to 12 games. Cam Brown, a transplant from Illinois, has burst on to the Wisco hockey scene with 14 goals, 8 assists, for 22 points in 16 games.
Other notables… Milwaukee’s, Aaron Storch (USM), currently sits tied for third in league scoring with 7 goals, 15 assists, for 22 points and Cory Roadhouse (USM) is tied for 6
th with 10 goals, 6 assists, for 16 points. Their goaltender, Charlie Mitch (Whitefish Bay) and his .913 save % is third best in the U16 division.
The North Central team is led by Jared Sprink (Mosinee) 9-11-20, Robert Poirier (Wausau West) 8-6-14 and Tom Kilgore (Wausau West) 7-4-11. Goaltender David Knetter (Wausau West) has 6 wins in 9 starts, ranking him second in that department amongst his peers.
The Northwest scoring leaders are Daniel Litchke (Superior) 10-6-16, Gerald Mikel (Superior) 7-7-14 and Richard Mikel (Superior) 5-9-14. Goaltender, Marc Hayton (Rice Lake), has the league’s second best save percentage with .915 and his colleague, Mike Billings (Webster), has the fourth best goals against average allowing only 2.86 goals against per contest.
Notables on the Northeast team are scoring leaders Jay Routheau (GBU) 4-7-11, Austin Vieth (Notre Dame) 8-2-10 and Steven Phillips (Notre Dame) 5-5-10.
The Western team gets a collection of goals from several of their players, but Jacob Mccabe (Sparta) 10-3-13, sits on top for scoring on their leader board.
Lastly... Joining the teams mentioned above this weekend is the Madison U16 Selects White team. Adam Derosa (Middleton) 18-11-29, is the Selects division scoring leader and a blast to watch.
