Junior Hockey: The Janesville Jets And Green Bay Gamblers Join Local Wait Staff
posted by Chris Walby at 11/6/2009
The Janesville Jets (NAHL) and the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) have a couple cool promotions going on in their communities. Last night, the Jets waited tables during their “Skaters As Waiters” promotion at the Denny’s located at 632 Midland Rd. in Janesville. Players donated their tips and Denny’s pitched in 10% of their sales to the United Way of North Rock County.
The Jets are keeping pace in the North division with a 9-8-0 record and just three points out of first place. The team travels to Marquette, MI this weekend and will host a two game series with Traverse City next weekend at the Janesville Ice Arena. Tickets, directions, etc. can be found
here. Tickets are as cheap as $7 for adults and $5.50 for students and seniors.
Recent Wisco (short for Wisconsin) grads, Ross Mauerman (Janesville), Ethan Nauman (Mosinee), Pat Dalbec (Superior) and Tyler Sorenson (Edgewood) have contributed to the team’s decent start. Mauerman (5-12-17) is tied for first in team scoring, Nauman (7-4-11) has four points in the last five games, Dalbec (4-3-7) is near the top in team scoring for defenseman and Sorenson (2-1-3) has a team high +6 plus/minus ratio and has played in all 17 games.
The Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) are waiting tables for the Center Of Childhood Safety at Marco’s Seafood Club at 1330 Marine Dr. on November, 17. All their tips will be donated to the center. I think Sean Little (Fond Du Lac) will be serving the shrimp and Aaron Harstad (Stevens Point) the sauce. Check out the Gamblers site
here for more information on the team. Green Bay's next home game is this Saturday against Cedar Rapids.
