Team Wisconsin Minor began play in the Bauer International Invitational Tournament yesterday in Chicago with mixed success. Their division is made up of a total of five teams including TW-Team Rocky Mountain (#95?), Belle Tire (#11), New Jersey Avalanche (#14), Dallas (#33) and Team Wisconsin (#17).
Both games for TW Minor yesterday involved the top teams in their division beginning with the #14 ranked New Jersey Avalanche. TW Minor held them to just one goal, but could not find the netting themselves in a
1-0 loss. Austin Priebe was in net for TW, but unfortunately the gamesheets do not record the number of shots he faced in the game.
Last night TW Minor bounced back against #11 Belle Tire with a
3-1 victory after trailing 1-0 early in the game. TW's goals were scored (in order) by Todd Koritzinsky on assists by Kyle Lee and Marques Surita. Next for TW in the second period for TW was Garrett Clemment notching a goal with the assist from Evan Janssen. Finally, Brandon Walls got on the board with assists from Kyle Lee and Cliff Watson. Tyler Platz was between the pipes for the game.
The Minors are back in action today with Team Rocky Mountain (who also beat Belle Tire yesterday and the Dallas Ice Jets.
Team Wisconsin Major was faced with a herculean task last night as they began play in the Bauer National Invitational Tournament. They faced one of two All-Star teams from the Elite League in Team Minnesota Red, losing 5-0. Today they will face Culver Academy.
