Bay Port Pirates

[b]Road To State -[/b] The Pirates coasted to the Fox River Classic Conference championship and then posted a regional final victory over Appleton East. Bay Port survived a scare from conference rival De Pere in the sectional semifinals before handling Kimberly in the sectional final.

[b]Notes -[/b] The Pirates are making their second straight appearance at the WIAA State Tournament under coach Nate Rykal ... Bay Port lost to Brookfield Central in last year's Division 1 quaterfinals ... Guard Jake Hottenstine (6-3) came off the bench for the Pirates a year ago, but has enjoyed a breakout senior season and leads Bay Port in scoring at 16.9 ppg ... Seniors Branden Tachick (6-5) and Marcus Ruh (6-2) contribute 13.1 ppg apiece for the Pirates.

[b]The Number -[/b] 7.19 - The average number of three-point shots the Pirates make per contest. That type of shooting will keep any team in the hunt for a victory and has certainly been one of the main reasons behind the Pirates' unbeaten record.
