Lake Superior Conference and Superior Team Preview :: Updated Monday, April 13, 2009

Superior has lost five starters to graduation including All-District/All-State pitcher and catcher combination Amanda LeBard and Ashley Martin. We hope to "fill the shoes" early in the season and stay competitive in the Lake Superior conference. Key returnees are All-conference players Britnee Blake (SS) and Emily Eisenmann (moving to 3B/C) both seniors.

[b]New Berlin Eisenhower[/b] won the Division 2 state championship and returns a very strong crew. The North Division favorites return pitchers Lauren Beres and Kayla Schlegel, who were a combined 24-1 last year, and seniors Kelly Brubakken, Brittany Rader and Liz Weise. [b]Cudahy[/b] lost only one senior from a third-place team. The Packers return first-team all-league pick Tanya Schwartz (jr., CF) and second-team picks Sam Homa (sr., P), Alisa Damitz (sr., 1B/3B) and Kelly Wilde (jr., SS). Homa and senior Kelly Gavin have made up Cudahy's battery for four seasons.
