Beloit Memorial pulled even in its conference record with a 24-21 victory over Union Grove on Friday night. Sophomore running back James Ford, Jr. had a huge game, rushing 27 times for 287 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Ford, Jr. has 649 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground as the Purple Knights are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Chilton won a barnburner against Valders Friday night, 43-36. Zac Halbach had a big game, and the Tigers needed it. He carried the ball 10 times for 185 yards with two touchdowns and also caught five passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. He was also a key player on defense with six tackles and a forced fumble, adding a 35-yard kick return as well.

It was a huge one in the Big Eight on Friday night as Verona claimed the Battle for Highway M in a 28-21 victory over rival and conference contender Middleton. Verona built a 28-7 lead in the second quarter, as Elijah Lagomasino threw three touchdowns in the first half. He'd finish the game with 219 yards and three touchdowns on nine-of-16 passing. 

Reedsville continued its strong start to the 2023 season with a 28-14 win over Cedar Grove-Belgium to remain unbeaten in Big East Conference play. Junior quarterback Parker Maney was the focal point of the offense, running 29 times for 174 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed four-of-six passes for 90 yards with a score.

A top five matchup in the Middle Border Conference turned into a route, as fifth-ranked Baldwin-Woodville dominated third-ranked Ellsworth 49-0. The Blackhawks defense limited Ellsworth to just 74 yards of offense in the game. Meanwhile, the Baldwin-Woodville offense put up big numbers, led by senior quarterback Cal Smith. He completed 10-of-13 passes for 250 yards with five touchdowns, including three, first-quarter touchdowns to get the Blackhawks out to a hot start. Smith also ran for 40 yards and a touchdown.
