We asked, you voted, and Mukwonago at Muskego has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Week 5 of the high school football season. A total of 9,963 votes were cast, as this one received 4,109 of those votes.

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

These teams have played some gigantic matchups over the last few years, and this one should be no different. Mukwonago moved to the top spot in the Division 1 Coaches Poll this week and Muskego is third.

Mukwonago has dominated a bit more this year than Muskego has, with the Warriors winning the two non-conference games over Verona and Oak Creek by a combined 10 points. Muskego has looked better the last couple weeks against Waukesha schools, but so has Mukwonago.

The Indians swept Muskego in two matchups last year, as this will be the fifth time these teams have met in the last 25 months.

This big-time showdown has the attention of fans across the state, but for Muskego head coach Ken Krause, the objective is simple.

"It's ALL about us," Krause said. "Our focus is getting better at what we do. We are extremely grateful we get to play at home."

Perhaps a small thing, but playing at home allows Muskego to wear it's dark-colored jerseys, something that can be beneficial for the Warriors' Wing-T offense.

"We have to block and fake relentlessly to the whistle on offense," said Krause. "Do our job and relentlessly pursue the football on defense. Special teams execute our assignments to the best of our ability."

Krause likes how the Warriors have performed so far this year, as they continue to build the culture that has produced some incredible seasons.

"The attitude and coachability of the players have been outstanding. We have a very positive and united team."

Muskego has a lot going for it, not just as a football program but as a school and community. The Warriors are in construction on an indoor facility, one of many improvements being made in the district that things like the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allow them to show off.

"We appreciate the state voting this the Game of the Week," added Krause. "It is always extra special to have Travis Wilson in the house. It's our Homecoming game so it will be an electric atmosphere. We are grateful to be in this position and excited to play."
