The Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is ready to go for 2023. Voting is featured at the bottom of this article. Voting is open until Thursday at 2 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint: Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

Jolly Good Week 5 Player of the Week Nominees

Bryce Erickson, Neillsville/Granton

Neillsville/Granton remained unbeaten with a 24-16 win over last year's Division 6 runner-up Mondovi. Bryce Erickson was big-time throwing the football, completing 33-of-46 passes for 339 yards and four touchdowns. He added 46 rushing yards as well with six tackles on the defensive side of the ball. 

Caymen Gebheim, Somerset

Somerset scored a big Middle Border Conference victory, defeating Ellsworth 30-28 in overtime. Caymen Gebheim scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime, finishing with 168 yards and a score on 30 rush attempts. He also led the Spartans with 17 tackles from his linebacker spot. 

Bentley Hickman, Homestead

Homestead scored an impressive 37-7 running clock victory over Hartford in the Thursday Night Throwdown broadcast last week, with talented sophomore running back Bentley Hickman running wild to the tune of 234 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. He was the Jolly Good Player of the Game for his big performance.

Brock Massey, Mauston

Mauston ended Wisconsin Dells' 18-game South Central Conference winning streak in dramatic fashion on Friday, downing the Chiefs 39-37. It was a back-and-forth affair, with Mauston senior Brock Massey providing the game-winning points on a fourth quarter punt return touchdown. Massey caught eight passes in the game with 146 yards and two touchdowns in addition to the punt return score, adding five tackles on defense as well as 135 total return yards.

Kameron Zielke, Weyauwega-Fremont

Weyauwega-Fremont went up early and pulled away for a 55-14 victory over Spencer/Columbus Catholic on Friday night, and Kameron Zielke had a hand in all eight touchdowns for the Warhawks. He completed 14-of-19 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns, rand for 78 yards and two scores on nine carries, returned a punt for a touchdown, and returned a kickoff for a touchdown. He also caught a 22-yard pass and had an interception on defense.
