Jolly Good Level 2 Player of the Week Nominees

Peyton Alvarado, Lancaster

Lancaster went on the road and knocked off previously undefeated second-seed Kenosha St. Joseph 30-20 in a Division 6 contest on Friday night. The Flying Arrows' ground game was too much for the Lancers, as Peyton Alvarado was a workhorse all night. The senior running back carried the ball 36 times for 230 yards and four touchdowns, including two scores in the second half.

Tyler Hatcher, Sussex Hamilton

It was an incredible battle on the WSN Live broadcast, as Sussex Hamilton held off Arrowhead for a 30-28 victory to remain undefeated on the season. Sussex Hamilton quarterback Tyler Hatcher was incredible, posting huge numbers despite playing through an injury that limited him for a good part of the action. He completed 19-of-32 passes for 341 yards with three touchdowns and added a team-high 128 yards on 28 carries as well.

Parker Maney, Reedsville

Parker Maney was huge for Reedsville this year as a dual-threat quarterback, but missed the Level 1 game against Loyal, which was a closer-than-anticipated 21-6 win for the Panthers. He returned in a big way in Level 2, rushing for 186 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries in a 35-0 shutout of Cambria-Friesland. Maney also completed two of his four pass attempts for 37 yards in the win.

Nick Olson, Boyceville

Boyceville advanced to Level 3 of the playoffs for the first time since 2012 with a 30-0 shutout of league rival Spring Valley on Friday night. The Bulldogs' running game was explosive all night, beginning with a 77-yard touchdown run by Nick Olson in the first quarter to open the scoring. Olson added a 30-yarder later in the game, finishing with nine carries for 135 yards and those two scores, averaging 15 yards per attempt. He also tied for the team lead with 11 tackles in the defense's shutout effort.

Cal Smith, Baldwin-Woodville

Baldwin-Woodville lost to Saint Croix Central 54-21 just three weeks ago, but it was a complete 180 in Level 2 of the playoffs, as the Blackhawks scored a 46-29 victory. Cal Smith struggled the first time around, with a 56.8 passer rating. He was a difference-maker on Friday night, however, completing 23-of-29 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns, posting a 130.9 passer rating. He also led the team with 12 rushing attempts for 68 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground.
