The Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is ready to go for 2024. Voting is featured at the bottom of this article. Voting is open until Thursday at 2 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint: Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

Jolly Good Week 2 Player of the Week Nominees

Matthew Buckman, Cambridge

Buckman had a big game as the Blue Jays took down Cambria-Friesland 35-30 in a battle of top ten squads. He threw a pair of first quarter touchdowns to put Cambridge ahead, finishing with four touchdown passes in the game. Buckman completed 35-of-45 passes for 333 yards and four scores, with a 117.9 passer rating. He added 11 rushing yards as well.

Andrew Mirek, Oconomowoc

Oconomowoc hasn't made the playoffs the last two years, but on Friday night took down Sussex Hamilton, who has made two straight Division 1 state semi-finals. In the 21-14 win, senior quarterback Andrew Mirek completed 8-of-12 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns, accounting for all three of the Raccoons' scores. He added 49 rushing yards as well. 

Tommy O’Hagan, Homestead

Coming off an opening loss to Germantown, Homestead rebounded nicely with a 24-21 win over Arrowhead, the top-ranked team in the initial WSN Division 1 Coaches Poll. Veteran quarterback Tommy O'Hagan threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, completing 9-of-16 passes. O'Hagan also led the Highlanders with 89 rushing yards on 17 attempts.

Jensen Rice, Iola-Scandinavia

Iola-Scandinavia won a shootout over Weyauwega-Fremont 46-29 on Friday, thanks to a 21-point fourth quarter performance. Junior quarterback Jensen Rice displayed the athletic ability that helped him win Division 3 state titles in the 100-meter dash and 110-meter hurdles, running for 294 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries, as he averaged 10.1 yards per carry. The junior standout also completed 8-of-10 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Sean Ryan, New Berlin West

New Berlin West's Sean Ryan was all over the place as the Vikings took down Menomonee Falls 35-6 on Friday. The senior ran the ball 20 times for 229 yards and a touchdown, also completing the only two passes of the game for West. Over on defense, he recorded six tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
