Triple Threat Athlete of the Week: Addison Schliewe, Sheboygan Falls

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state. Players are recognized each week on WSN, with a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. The award recognizes student athletes who embody the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline across multiple sports. The mission of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Milwaukee is to find qualified men and women in Wisconsin and the surrounding area interested in becoming a United States Marine. Marines maintain the legacy of the Marine Corps by winning our nations battles and returning to their communities as quality citizens whether they are active duty or reservist. The coveted title of Marine applies only to those who graduate from the Recruit Depots or Officer Candidate School. RS Milwaukee will provide any qualified man or woman the opportunity to attend the training required to become a Marine - Enlisted or Officer.

Basketball Honors: Enters her senior year as a three-year varsity starter for the Falcons... honorable mention all-EWC as a freshman, averaging 10 points and 6.3 rebounds per game... unanimous first-team all-league as a sophomore, tallying 16.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game... unanimous first-team and EWC Player of the Year as a junior... honorable mention Division 3 WBCA all-state as a junior... led Sheboygan Falls to the EWC title with a perfect 14-0 record... the 6-2 forward averaged 20 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.1 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game for the 23-3 Falcons... has compiled 1,175 points and 723 rebounds... committed to NCAA Division I University of St. Thomas in Minnnesota... coached by Paul Houwers... 

Soccer Honors: Enters her senior year as a three-year varsity starter for the Falcons... freshman year was second-team all-EWC/Packerland as a defender... earned first-team all-EWC as a defender during her sophomore and junior season... helped the Falcons claim the EWC/Packerland title and a WIAA Division 4 regional title as a sophomore... helped lead Sheboygan Falls to a Division 3 regional title as a junior... team MVP as a junior... coached by James Veeser... 

Favorite Sport (and why): "My favorite sport is basketball. It is the sport I enjoy playing the most and I love the girls I play with. It also comes the easiest to me and it is probably my strongest sport."

Best Part of High School Sports (and why): "The best part of high school is definitely playing sports in front of a student section. The energy they bring to the games is a feeling unlike any other."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "The best advice I have received from a high school coach is that any team can be beaten on any given day."

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "My most memorable memory in high school sports is when my basketball team beat Brillion my sophomore year in playoffs after losing to them twice during the regular season."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "The best part of playing three sports is definitely the different relationships you get to make be involved on so many teams."

Most Difficult Part of Playing Three Sports: "The most difficult part is definitely time management because playing 3 sports means not having an off-season so you are always trying to manage a lot of things with sports, school, friends, and finding time to work."

Favorite Opponent (and why): "My favorite opponent is Plymouth because they are our school's rival. There are always huge crowds when we play Plymouth and the atmosphere at the games is so fun to be in."

Favorite Professional Team: Milwaukee Bucks

Favorite Professional Athlete: Caitlin Clark

Favorite College Team: "My favorite college team is the Iowa Hawkeyes because of Caitlin Clark."

Cumulative GPA: 3.9

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against (and why): "Megan Schuman (Brillion) because we matched up really well in basketball because we were around the same height and played the same position."

Most Admired High School Teammate (and why): "My most admired teammate was Savannah Strojny. She was a senior my freshman year and she played the same position as me in soccer. She pushed me to be better and inspired everyone on the team. She also was really good and always connected with me on and off the field so I really looked up to her."

College Plans: "I plan to attend the University of St. Thomas where I will continue to play basketball and major in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy."

Activities Outside of Sports: "I love going to the beach and hiking. And I also play multiple musical instruments."
