We asked, you voted, and Pardeeville at Cambridge has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Week 7 of the high school football season. A total of 5,038 votes were cast, as this one received 1,667 of those votes. 

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

It's an unbeaten showdown in the Eastern Suburban Conference with the winner taking control of the league, as both teams come in two games clear of anyone else in the standings. Pardeeville is 6-0 after missing out on the playoffs the past two seasons, while Cambridge is off to an undefeated start as well, with just one playoff appearance in the last three years.

Besides these two, no other team in the Eastern Suburban Conference has a winning overall record heading into Week 7, so while the victory isn't assured of anything, there's a good chance this is the de facto conference title game in the league.

Cambridge is 6-0, but has faced some tough tests so far, including a 35-30 non-conference win over Cambria-Friesland in Week 2. 

"We have been able to put up a lot of points on the board and for the most part, kept other offenses in check," said head coach Rob Nelles. "We have had to battle some adversity in a couple of games which is good. Our program motto is 'hang tough', so in order to live it, one has to go through it."

The Blue Jays feature the state's leading passer, senior Matthew Buckman, who has throw for 1,884 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, completing an impressive 73% of his passes with a quarterback rating of 138.8.

Six different receivers have caught at least 10 passes this season, including Kiefer Parish, who leads the state with 10 touchdown catches and is in the top five in receptions and receiving yards.

It will be a different level of challenge for Pardeeville, who has limited opponents to just 28 points this year, though has faced only 67 passes all season. Cambridge averages 32 per game.

Pardeeville's offense is built on running the football, led by quarterback Logan Young, who leads the way with 119 yards per game on the ground. He's also thrown for 550 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Nelles knows the Bulldogs will be a challenge for the Blue Jays.

"We are looking forward to hosting a great team in Pardeeville," he said. "This is what Friday night football is all about."

Still, the imperative Cambridge is to take care of their own business.

"Our mindset is always the same, focus on us but have full respect for the opponent," Nelles added. "Thus far we have had a great week of practice with a lot of excitement in the air."
