Prescott at Baldwin-Woodville

Prescott has been the surprise of the Middle Border this year, and one of the biggest surprises in the entire state. The Cardinals missed out on the playoffs last year with a 2-5 league record, but they are undefeated to this point and ranked in the top five of the WSN Coaches Poll. A showdown with co-Middle Border leader Baldwin-Woodville is waiting this week, with the winner securing at least a share of the conference crown.

Spring Valley at Boyceville

Both teams enter this matchup unbeaten overall, unbeaten in the Dunn-St. Croix, and ranked in the top ten of the Division 7 Coaches Poll on WisSports.net. Both have dominated their competition in the DSC, with Boyceville averaging more than 44 points per game, while Spring Valley is limiting opponents to just four points per contest.

Darlington at Cuba City

Darlington has won 26 consecutive SWAL games dating to late in the 2019 season. The favorites in the league again this year, the Redbirds are tied atop the standings with Cuba City, who both enter 5-0 in the conference. The Cubans are a very experienced team, with more than 25 seniors on the roster.

Grantsburg at Ladysmith

It has been a down year for the Lakeland Conference this year, except these two teams. Grantsburg and Ladysmith enter Week 8 with identical 5-0 conference marks, two games clear of anyone else in the league.

Amherst at Stratford

Unbeaten matchups this late in the season are a rare treat, as Amherst and Stratford are both 7-0 on the year. Stratford is the two-time defending Division 6 state champion and joined in the top ten of this year's Division 5 rankings by Amherst. While both have looked very good against the rest of the CWC-Large, Stratford is on a different level, outscoring conference foes by an average score of 48-9.
