Triple Threat Athlete of the Week: Ellie Schiszik, Elk Mound

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state. Players are recognized each week on WSN, with a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. The award recognizes student athletes who embody the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline across multiple sports. The mission of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Milwaukee is to find qualified men and women in Wisconsin and the surrounding area interested in becoming a United States Marine. Marines maintain the legacy of the Marine Corps by winning our nations battles and returning to their communities as quality citizens whether they are active duty or reservist. The coveted title of Marine applies only to those who graduate from the Recruit Depots or Officer Candidate School. RS Milwaukee will provide any qualified man or woman the opportunity to attend the training required to become a Marine - Enlisted or Officer.

Basketball Honors: Enters senior year as a three-time first-team all-conference performer for the Mounders... two-time Division 3 WBCA honorable mention all-state... AP honorable mention all-state as a junior... two-time WBCA academic all-state... Dunn-St. Croix Player of the Year as a junior... first-team all-Northwest as a junior... second-team all-Northwest as a sophomore... special mention all-Northwest as a freshman... three-time team offensive MVP... knocked down 11 three-pointers in a game as a freshman (unofficial state record for 3-pointers in a game)... coached by Jordan Kongshaug... the 5-7 guard averaged 15 points, 2.3 assists, and 3.5 steals per game for the 27-1 Mounders, which reached a Division 3 sectional final... has compiled 1,182 points and connected on 205 three-pointers career... committed to play for coach Moran Lonning at NCAA Division III UW-La Crosse...

Favorite Sport (and why): "My favorite sport is basketball. My grandpa and dad both coached basketball so I spent time in the gym with them when I was really little. This grew my love for the sport from a really young age. I love all the aspects of basketball, whether it's competing, hanging out with my teammates, or working hard to improve my skills." 

Best Part of High School Sports (and why): "The best part of high school sports is getting to play with my friends that I’ve grown up with. It is also neat getting to see the community come together to support the different teams." 

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "The best advice that I have received is from my basketball coach, Coach Kongshaug. 'We have a motto, no half measures', meaning go 100% and give 100% effort in all you do, whether it's sports, school, jobs, or other activities." 

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "My most memorable moment in high school sports was beating Aquinas in a WIAA Basketball Sectional Semifinal in 2024." 

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "The best part of playing three sports is the variety. I get to interact with different people and coaches, and I get to learn and use different skills."

Most Difficult Part of Playing Three Sports: "The most difficult part of playing three sports is the busy schedule that comes with it." 

Favorite Opponent (and why): "My favorite opponent is Colfax because they are our rival, and the games are always competitive. The atmosphere at the games is always really cool because the gym is very packed." 

Favorite Professional Team: Milwaukee Bucks

Favorite College Team: Wisconsin Badgers

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against (and why): "The toughest individual I have competed against is Chloe Auth from Durand-Arkansaw for many years, and she challenges me and pushes me to be better. I am going to get her best effort, so I know I need to match that." 

Most Admired High School Teammate (and why): "The high school teammate I most admire is Jaidynn Sarauer. She always gives 100%, has a great attitude, and encourages others. She is always happy to celebrate other people’s successes." 

College Plans: "I will attend UW-La Crosse and plan to play basketball there. Currently, my major is undecided." 

Activities Outside of Sports: "I enjoy camping, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and friends."
