The Spring Valley Cardinals have been selected as the Week 8 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team beat Boyceville to take control of the Dunn-St. Croix race. The Cardinals were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 8. A total of 6,758 votes were cast, as Spring Valley's 2,440 votes edged Cuba City's 2,056 votes.

In a showdown for first place in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference, Spring Valley scored the go-ahead touchdown with just 1:19 left when Cade Stasiek ran in from six yards out, lifting the Cardinals to a 19-18 win over Boyceville. In a defensive slugfest, Spring Valley's defense limited Boyceville to just 155 yards, ending the Bulldogs' 15-game conference winning streak.
