We asked, you voted, and Beaver Dam at Port Washington has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Week 9 of the high school football season. A total of 8,819 votes were cast, as this one received 3,245 of those votes.

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

Both teams are unbeaten in East Central Conference play, though Beaver Dam does have a crossover game loss against Mount Horeb/Barneveld. Either way, at least a share of the conference title is on the line in this one.

"This has been a very successful season for Beaver Dam football, with the best start since 1989," said head coach Brock Linde. "Our players have done a great job on and off the field, serving as positive community members and mentors for our youth."

Port Washington, like Beaver Dam, enters 7-1 overall in this one, ranked fourth in Division 3.

"This season has gone well," said Pirates coach John Bunyan. "We have added Watertown and Beaver Dam to the East Central Conference, and with the crossover games, it has been very competitive."

There's a lot going on in Port Washington, with a conference title on the line, the last regular season home game, and Senior Night for the team's 17 seniors. It could be easy to get wrapped up in all the outside distractions, but Port is trying to keep eyes forward.

"We are focused on ourselves and look for ways to get better daily as a team," added Bunyan.

That strategy is similar to how Beaver Dam is trying to approach this one.

"We will attempt to keep the same mindset as every game," explained Linde. "However, we also recognize the magnitude of this game, since the last conference championship for Beaver Dam football was in 1983."

"Our players deserve to be very proud of themselves for their efforts and should play with confidence."
