On Deck: Ashwaubenon baseball quartet announces college plans

Ashwaubenon head baseball coach Shannon Van Laanen announced the commitment of four seniors who will play baseball in college. The Jaguars finished 19-9 overall and tied for the Fox River Classic Conference title with a 17-5 record.

 

The quartet includes.

  

Adam Michalski RHP/SS (UW-La Crosse)

-- Fox River Classic Conference unanimous first-team and honorable mention Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-State selection as an infielder. He batted .438 as a senior. He earned all-conference second-team honors as a junior.



Brad Veara, OF (UW-Stevens Point)

-- Fox River Classic Conference first-team as an outfielder. He batted 512 as a senior. He earned all-conference second-team honors as a junior.



Tony Shimek, OF (Carroll College)

-- Fox River Classic Conference second-team as an outfielder. He batted .432 as a senior.

 

Jeremy Mattson, RHP (Maranantha Baptist)

-- He led team with four saves
