That s why I m out here in right field just watching the dandelions grow!

Hello Everyone – It s hard to believe that this is Bulletin #47 already. I think 55 is the most bulletins I ve ever done in a season before. There is a reason for the increase in the number of Bulletins though.

The reason is the score reporting procedures on wissports.net. I am not spending 3-4 hours per night copying and pasting your score reports like I did in the past, thus I have that time to do Bulletins, type more personal messages via e-mail and more.

First some web site topics or issues.

I ve received many e-mails from people trying to report scores and telling me all they get are white pages etc. The reason is pretty simple. In order to access the nitty gritty part of the website and submit information a person needs a coach account. To get one of those just e-mail to me and I will forward the request to the guys at WSN. Keep in mind that it should be a coach and not a parent or fan of the school. I m not going to go into why that is the case, it s an obvious and valid reason.  If your school does not have score reports on the site it is because the coach doesn t submit information or hasn t assigned that task to somebody else within the program.

There are what I call, "glitche" when reporting games and when viewing game reports on the reports page. They aren t major but, as many of you have pointed out, they are somewhat annoying. Score by innings not lining up, the home team winding up on the top line of a line score, five inning games looking like seven inning games etc. I ve sent out several e-mails to the fellas at the office pointing out the issues. Everyone needs to be a bit patient and I think they ll work things out.

Sending me game reports done on MaxPreps etc. doesn t work. I don t have time to print those sheets out and type up game reports adn the WSN staff doesn't either – coaches just need to use the WSN site admin area and submit at least a score for the scoreboard page. It s just the way it is!

I d appreciate any links to daily papers, radio stations etc. that provide online prep pages where I can just list a link on the Opening Pitch Blog page for everyone to read. If there are links to other sites with articles, game scores, game reports etc. that would be great to have too. There are some areas of the state that are far too void of information flowing out. Especially the far north, the northwest (Burnett County, Washburn County, Sawyer County, Iron County, Barron County, and more). We need help from people up there in getting information on the site and publicity for the kids in those programs up there.

Some of you who know me well, know that I am a Yankee fan and have been since the mid-1950s. I am amused by the story about the Ortiz jersey buried in the foundation of the New Yankee Stadium and the fact that they are about to auction it off. That s some rivalry. I m trying to figure out how to get Roger Schliewe of Horicon, Steve Schmikla of McFarland or somebody from Lodi to come and bury one of their jerseys in the diamond at Poynette and then leak the story to a sports writer from the State Journal or some other key paper. I d dig up that jersey and auction it off in an attempt to do some easy fund raising so we have some money to buy even one bat for our kids here at Poynette.

I ve already done all those places and more a favor too. We no longer are using the pin-striped uniforms Poynette was known for from 1988 through 2003. I ve buried about a dozen of those jerseys in some of your fields, dugouts foundations etc. To find out if you might be one of the "lucky" places to have a Poynette jersey buried, you ll just have to submit something to get the information. Perhaps a new bat, some new balls, a new pitcher s plate, some diamond chalk perhaps.

We buried an old Poynette softball jersey in a rival's field years ago but until now, never leaked the information about it out.

Cherise Waltz of Oakfield has thrown three consecutive no-hitters. A five-inning no-hiter then a six-inning perfect game and the latest one was a seven-inning perfect game. Oakfield's other pitcher, Nichole Nolan tossed a five-inning no-hitter today.

Rosholt's Brianna Hahn tossed a six-inning no-hitter today against Almond-Bancroft. She fanned seven.

New Richmond Notes: Nikki Singerhouse had another strong outing as she pitched her 5th straight win of the season. Singerhouse also notched her 500th career strikeout along with going 2-3 at the plate with a home run. Paige Spaulding went 4x4 with a homerun and Hannah Bygd 3-4 with two singles and a double helped lead the Tigers offense to an 8-3 Victory over Ellsworth and a 5-0 start on the season.

Laci Pustina, an all stater from Highland scattered three hits and fanned 14 today against Potosi.

Hamilton Sussex and Brookfield Central combined for 26 hits in a 10-7 game today. Hamilton's Stephanie Rossman had 1double, 1HR ,3x4 with 1 RBI while Allison Olson went 2x4 with a home run and  2 RBI and Theresa Klees was 1x3 with a double and one RBI.

Hudson Brit Krieg allowed only 2 Wildcats to reach 1st base on a walk and a hit and fanned 13 today against River Falls.

Brittany Falkenberg  of Chippewa Falls went 1x2 with a home run and three RBI as Chi High beat Rice Lake 4-0 today.

Courtney Hoeg of Onalaska Luther fanned 13 and walked one today as Luther beat West Salem 7-0.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran Notes: Jessie Meyer struck out 13 batters, hit 2 doubles and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning to help the Lancers pick up their 4th conference win.

Laura Raflik of Pacelli fanned 17 in an 8-inning 8-78 win over Shiocton today.

The above highlights were gleaned from the Reports page of the wissports.net softball site.

That s about it for tonight. It s raining pretty hard as I put this Bulletin to rest. Have a great day!

Remember, some things in tonight's Bulletin have to be read the same way they were typed -- "tongue in cheek."

Keep it Rising!
