Dennis Semrau is the latest to join the editorial staff at WSN. Semrau is an award winning prep sports journalist in the Madison area for The Captial Times, a role he has had since 1991.
He has also covered the Milwaukee Brewers extensively for the paper and has also been involved with covering a little bit of everything else including local college and pro sports. He has also been a statistician for UW basketball for 25 years and does internal PA for UW football for the media. He is a member of the Baseball Writers of American Association and a voting member of the professional baseball Hall of Fame.
"Dennis Semrau is a name that has been synonymous with high school sports," said Nicholas Kartos, Founder and President of WSN. "To bring such a highly respected and regarded writer onto our staff is just a great honor and a pleasure and I think it is something that helps us continue our tradition of being the number one prep sports media company in the state."
Dennis will be penning a column for WisSports.net newly created baseball section called "On Deck" that will be a combination of stories, news & notes from the world of high school and amateur baseball. He will also be penning a weekly column for WisSports.net, dubbed "The Dean" after a nickname he has earned over the years on local radio as "The Dean of high school sports." Lastly, he will be featured in WSN Illustrated as a senior writer.
In addition to his duties at WSN he will continue to write for The Capital Times, Wisconsin State Journal and Madison.com.
