Name: Skyler Bohn
School: Grafton
GPA: 3.62
Favorite subject: History
Position: Catcher
Other sports: football, basketball, tennis
I got my start in sports: playing tee-ball when I was three years old. I started playing basketball in fourth grade, soccer in sixth grade, football as a freshman and tennis as a junior.
Baseball highlights: three-year starter at catcher and two-time co-captain as a senior and junior … earned North Shore Conference honorable mention honors as a senior …earned the team’s Coaches’ Award as a senior and sophomore … received the Best Teammate Award voted on by his peers as a senior.
2010 stats: batted .338 (25-for-74) with three doubles, two triples, 17 RBI … had 10 walks and posted a .432 slugging percentage and .430 on-base percentage … drew two walks in the WIAA Summer State Baseball state quarterfinals.
2010 team highlights: Black Hawks finished third in the North Shore Conference with an 11-7 record and finished 21-10 overall. Grafton lost to West Bend West 9-7 in a state quarterfinal game.
Football honors: two-time letterwinner and two-year starter as a placekicker in football as a senior and junior ... also was a reserve linebacker on defense … received the team’s Black Hawk award in football as a senior, presented by the coaches to the player who best represents the program.
Other sports honors: lettered in basketball as a senior as a reserve guard … scored 18 points in his first varsity game … two-time letterwinner in tennis playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles ... was a co-captain in tennis as a senior, advancing to WIAA regional play in No. 1 doubles.
This and that: member of military history book club ... volunteer work includes coaching at Little League baseball camps and youth middle school basketball camps … member of High Honor Roll … earned Academic Letter … works part-time at Tomaso’s Italian American restaurant in Cedarburg.
I like playing baseball because: catcher is the only position that has a view of the whole field. It’s a mind game as well as a physical game. There are so many aspects of the game you have to put together in order to achieve the best you can do
Most memorable moment in sports: playing in the WIAA state baseball tournament my senior year.
