Brillion - The Lions and the Roncalli Jets were both undefeated heading into Friday night's Olympian-Packerland Small battle, with the outright conference lead on the line. The Lions jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and held on for a 20-13 victory to take over sole possession of first place in the O-P Small. Justin Zeamer ran for 104 yards and a touchdown and Will Jensen completed all four of his passes, including a 15 yard scoring strike to Levi Krizenesky in the win. Kicker Matt Van Druten came up big as well, drilling a 33-yard field goal in the second quarter and hitting from 21 yards out in the fourth quarter.

Homestead - The Highlanders entered Friday night's showdown of undefeated North Shore teams riding a 56-game conference winning streak; by the end of the night that streak was extended by a game as Homestead held off a late Bulldog rally to score a 24-21 victory. DeAngelo Dantzler scored the game's first two touchdowns (one running, one receiving) and Matt Stern booted a key 22 yard field goal in the second quarter for the Highlanders. On the day, Dantzler finished with 149 yards while backfield mate Antoine Easterling accounted for 138. Quarterback Cody Berger chipped in with a pair of touchdown passes. In addition to extending their conference win streak to 57 games, the Highlanders also retained a share of the NSC lead at 3-0 with Whitefish Bay.

Saint Croix Falls - The Saints were just 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the Lakeland-Large heading into Friday's battle with unbeaten and fourth-ranked Flambeau, and very much in need of a win. Marcus Campbell started the scoring with a 21-yard field goal in the first quarter, and booted another 21-yarder in the third quarter that ended up being the game-winner as SCF held on for a 13-10 victory. Nick Johnson accounted for their only touchdown on a 19-yard scamper later in the first quarter, and Alex Bertram rushed for 123 yards on 20 carries to lead the way for the Saints.

Sun Prairie - Middleton and Sun Prairie have had a healthy rivalry since the two suburban Madison schools joined the Big Eight about the same time back in the 1990's. Friday night that rivalry was ramped up even more with both teams sporting 4-0 records and top five rankings. A jam-packed parking lot and stadium greeted visitors for the match-up of teams sporting the Cardinal logo. Sun Prairie got off to a bit of a rough start, with some early turnovers allowing Middleton to control field position and get an early touchdown. A one-yard Tyler Patterson touchdown sneak with 29 seconds to go in the first half gave Sun Prairie some momentum. They corrected their mistakes at halftime and largely controlled the game after that, pulling away for a 17-7 victory. Mike Mwelwa rushed for 126 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown while Patterson was 9 of 18 through the air for 95 yards and no interceptions.

Wausau West - West was 0-4 entering Friday's Wisconsin Valley Conference showdown with perennial power Stevens Point, while the Panthers came in at 2-2, although their two losses were to top-ranked Kenosha Bradford and one of Minnesota's best programs Minnetonka. Mismatch right? Wrong; West played a strong game and held on for a 31-28 victory. A 36-yard field goal by Matt Bautch in the second quarter was the difference in the game. Adam Dreas and Nathan Kuehl both went over 100 yards and averaged more than 10 yards per carry in the process, and Travis Schertz was extremely efficient passing the ball, going 7 of 11 for 156 yards and a score.
