Luxemburg-Casco senior center Janelle VandenPlas has been on a tear this season and broke a school record last week alone en route to earning this week's Splash of the Week.

Tuesday VandenPlas had a game-high 19 points in a 52-40 non-conference victory over Kewaunee. But Thursday, VandenPlas scored a school-record 41 points in about two and a half quarters of floor time in a 62-21 blasting of Hortonville. Head Coach Brett Killion pulled the senior star with about 2:30 left in the third quarter after she had scored 29 points in the first half alone.

Teammate Haley Kinnard also broke a school record with 15 assists in that game for the Division 2 top-ranked Spartans.

VandenPlas' single-game scoring total surpasses the Luxemburg-Casco school record of 39 and also ranks as the most points scored in the state so far this season, one point more than Siren's Carley Emery scored against Clear Lake and Milwaukee Juneau/Morse-Marshall's Prevale McLin scored against Young Coggs Prep.

Fully recovered from consecutive ACL tears her freshman and sophomore seasons, VandenPlas has tallied 781 points and averages just over 20 points per game in her high school career.
