Tyson Kalien set a pair of Chippewa Falls boys basketball school records with an amazing 52-point outburst Saturday, also earning this week's Splash of the Week.

Kalien, a junior guard, needed just two 3-pointers entering the game to tie the career record makes from downtown, but smashed that with six in the first half alone. That came as just part of what was a second-record setting night with 52 points, besting Bob Mastow's 58-year mark of 44 set against Ladysmith on Jan. 21, 1953.

Kalien also already holds the most three-pointers in a single game with nine, which he accomplished twice last season. The 52-point outburst also ties Kailen at the top of the 2010-11 season record with Sheboygan Lutheran's Sam Dekker, which he set back in December.

Chippewa Falls won Saturday's game against Big Rivers Conference rival Eau Claire North 68-49, just two nights after Kalien also went for 21 in a league loss to Rice Lake.

Honorable Mention

Kaitlyn Eversoll, McFarland: Eversoll set a season scoring record of her own Friday night, blasting Clinton for 45 points on nine three-pointers in a 68-53 Rock Valley crossover victory. That 45 points bettered Janelle VandenPlas from Luxemburg-Casco's 41-point outpouring just three weeks ago. Eversoll breached the 1,200 career-point plateau with that effort as her Spartans improved to 7-3 in the RVC and 9-7 overall.

Arrowhead Girls Basketball: The Warhawks were the first team to beat top-ranked and defending Division 1 state champion Pius XI in over a calendar year. Jenny Smith led Arrowhead with 25 points with Andie Zeman and Jessica Goetz scored 16 and 14 respectively. The Warhawks have won seven games in a row and are now just two games out of first place in the Classic Eight Conference race.

WSFLG Boys Hockey: Despite having two league games remaining, the WSFLG boys hockey team has almost clinched the Minnesota-based Two Rivers Conference title this season after 8-1 and 4-1 victories over Mora and Meadow Creek/Legacy Christian last weekend. The Blizzard are 9-1 in conference play and 18-2-1 overall and earned the sixth-seed in next week's WIAA regional tournament.
