We said it last year, but we'll say it again-- Wisconsin isn't exactly the first place one might think of when looking for the best boys volleyball competition in the state, yet one club program has proven a national power across several age groups. The West Allis Lightning boys volleyball club had quite a week at last week's USAV Junior Championships, earning this week's Splash of the Week.

Three different Lightning squads earned Gold bracket finishes at the Minneapolis-hosted Championships tournament. The 13 squad took home the 1st Place trophy in its pool, while two West Allis squads earned fourth place in the 14 Open and 18 Club divisions.

The 17 Open team consisting mainly of incoming seniors was ousted in the first round of the gold bracket and finished tied for fifth overall in arguably the deepest division on the boys side. A story of last week's 17 Open Gold bracket quarterfinal preview can be found here.

Individual gold medals awarded to the 13 Club team were Quinn Barkow, Adam Campbell, Zachary Derosier, Patrick Donohue, Quinn Farrell, Ryan Korom, Nicholas Leach, Scott MacGillis, Matthew Murphy, Scott Stadick, Andre Sydnor and Gregory Von Rueden. The fourth-place 14 Open squad consisted of Zachary Bohmann, Daniel Brozynski, Skylar Czaplewski, Ryan Donohue, Donald Foley, Mark Heinen, Jordan Hoppe, Joseph Mack, Jacob Romano, Daniel Siy, Parker Voller and Adam Wessel.

The Lightning also picked up a 21st place finish in the 15 Open division and 31st place in the 16 Open.
