The “Biggest Little City in the World” just grew a couple inches. 75 inches to be exact. This is due to the recent scholarship acceptance by Whitewater's 6-foot-3 Julia Shelbourn to the University of Nevada-Reno Wolf Pack. For her overall dominance in girl's basketball, and her near-2,000 mile trek to Reno, Shelbourn is this week's recipient of the Splash of the Week.

The two-time Rock Valley-North Conference first-team member accepted a scholarship from the Wolf Pack last week after impressive performances over the past two years for the Whippets. She averaged 12.3 points per game her sophomore year and nearly 17 ppg her junior year, which included a 32 point onslaught against Evansville this past January.

Shelbourn will be joining a Nevada-Reno team that went 22-11 last year in the Western Atlantic Conference—the school will be moving to the Mountain West Conference next year—and was knocked out in the second round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament by Southern California.

The 2010-2011 Daily Jefferson County Girl's Basketball Player of the Year will look to continue her dominance in the Rock Valley-North Conference and Jefferson County when the Whippets kick off their season against Lake Mills on November 22.
