Nicolet's Brittney Fair headlined the 2012 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 1 All-State Team as a unanimous selection.

Fair was a key player on last year's team that won the D1 state title, and stepped into a larger role this season, averaging 20.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 steals per game while also playing outstanding defense as the Knights shared the North Shore Conference crown and advanced to the sectional semi-finals.

The rest of the team consisted of: Terri Bender, Pius XI; Makailah Dyer, Madison East; Alexis Eckles, Milwaukee King; Nafeshia Holified, Milwaukee Vincent; Asia Mosley, Racine Case; Arike Ogunbowale, DSHA; Kenzie Perttu, Green Bay Preble; Jenny Smith, Arrowhead; Taylor Varsho, Marshfield; Avyanna Young, Milwaukee King.

Bender and Dyer are repeat First Team selections while Taylor Varsho is a three-time First Team choice.

Bender helped the Lady Popes to a share of a third straight Classic Eight title, with the team going 81-11 in her career as a starter. The 5-7 point guard led the team in scoring (13.1 ppg), rebounds (6.1 rpg), assists (4.2 apg), and steals (4 spg) as a senior.

Dyer, a 6-0 University of Wisconsin recruit, finished second in the state in scoring this year at 24.6 points per game. She ended her illustrious career with more than 1500 points while averaging 3.4 assists, 3.3 steals, and 2.7 rebounds as a senior.

Eckles has helped the Generals to a Milwaukee City Conference title and appearance in the Division 1 state tournament, averaging 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game from her guard spot. The 5-10 senior is a terror defensively as well, averaging 4.9 steals per contest.

Holifield was a key performer on a Vikings squad that spent time at the top of the Coaches Poll in Division 1 for a time and finished second in the Milwaukee City Conference-Gold Division. The 6-2 senior averaged 17 points per game for head coach Derick Jenkins.

Mosley, a 6-0 forward, picked up the slack when last year's Miss Basketball Samantha Logic graduated and returning honorable mention All-State forward Jameeka Bouie was lost for the season with an injury, averaging a team-best 14.2 points per game as the Eagles won an outright Southeast Conference crown and finished 21-3.

Ogunbowale burst on the scene with an outstanding freshman season that saw her average 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, all team best. It's no wonder the 5-9 wing player received an offer from Marquette back in December.

Perttu finished her career as the all-time leading scorer in FRCC history and averaged 19.8 points per game as a senior. The 5-9 guard faced frequent double- and triple-teams but found a way to get the ball in the basket to help her team win.

Smith was instrumental in the Warhawks claiming a share of the Classic Eight title, averaging 17.7 points per game on her way to league Player of the Year honors. The 6-2 forward set a school record with 43 points in a win over Germantown in February.

Varsho holds the school record with 1367 career points, claiming two league titles and a pair of Wisconsin Valley Conference Player of the Year awards in her time for the Tigers. She averaged 18.7 points per game as a senior in earning her third All-State nod.

Young is big (6-1), athletic and skilled, making her a very tough match-up for opposing post players. She averages 16.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game this year for the red-hot Generals, who have won 12 straight games heading into the state tournament.
