May 14-20 Winner: Tara Larson, Kenosha Tremper
Tara Larson of Kenosha Tremper soccer has been selected as the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of May 14th through the 20th following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Larson and Tremper remained unranked this week in D1 despite three wins last week at a tournament in Green Bay. Her three goals in two days were a team high. Larson led all nominees with 1,436 votes (48.4%), with Prescott’s Jake Hintz coming in second with 848.
The Trojans (18-2-1, 7-0-0 Southeast) played three games in two days last weekend, walking out undefeated with wins over Notre Dame (4-1), Green Bay Southwest (4-0) and Green Bay Preble (5-2). Excluding a point-less outing against Notre Dame, Larson led the Trojans with 8 points last Saturday. Her two early second half goals against Preble opened up a 2-1 lead from the first. She added another goal against Southwest.
