Week 5 Prep Props: State's Top Performances

Week 5 Rushing Leaders

Living Word Lutheran cruised to an easy 48-20 win over HOPE Christian on Saturday in a game with lots of yards on the ground. Leading the way was junior Cam Werner, who carried the ball 22 times for 345 yards and 6 touchdowns. It was his first touchdowns of the year and more yards than he had accumulated all season. Also in the game, HOPE's Anthony Poe continued his strong year with 36 carries for 256 yards and 2 scores.

Week 5 Passing Leaders

Turtle Lake needed a win over Elmwood/Plum City in the worst way, as the team entered the match-up at 1-2 in Lakeland-South play. Junior quarterback Tanner Arnold certainly did his part and then some. The 6-2 signal-caller completed 22 of 37 passes for 363 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Lakers won a 34-28 back and forth affair.

Week 5 Receiving Leaders

With quarterback Tanner Arnold's big day passing the ball, you'd expect his receivers would put up some pretty good numbers as well. That certainly was the case, led by senior Kyle Steffen, who caught 6 passes for a state-high 188 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also posted a 9 catch, 236 yard performance back in a Week 2 loss to Clear Lake.
