Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the 2014 WSN Senior Baseball Awards.

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to five finalists. Winners are announced the week of the spring baseball state tournament.

WSN Senior Baseball Awards -- Outfielder Finalists:

Jon Barnes, Stevens Point -- Barnes is a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection this season, leading the Wisconsin Valley Conference in hitting with a .478 batting average. He's scored 36 runs this season with 14 RBI while swiping 14 bases.

Conner Funnell, Sun Prairie -- Funnell was a big reason Sun Prairie won the 2013 state title, collecting 7 hits in three games from his leadoff position. He's looking to help the Cardinals to a third consecutive title this season, and has been outstanding all year. He recently was named First Team All-Conference in the Big Eight after hitting .369 with 27 runs scored.

Jeren Kendall, Holmen -- One of the top professional prospects to come out of Wisconsin over the last few years, Kendall's strong commitment to Vanderbilt resulted in him sliding to the 30th round of the recent MLB Draft despite being the #89 prospect in Baseball America's rankings. Postseason awards are not out for the Mississippi Valley Conference yet, but he'll certainly repeat on the First Team and is a strong candidate for Player of the Year honors. Back in May, he recorded 10 RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Beaver Dam, hitting for the cycle in the second game.

Connor Rolain, Appleton North -- Rolain is an outstanding multi-sport athlete, winning the Jim Leonhard Award on WSN in the fall as the state's top defensive back in football. On the diamond, he helped the Lightning to the Sectional Semi-Finals, hitting .453 on the year with a .543 on-base percentage and .593 slugging percentage. He drove in 20 runs, scored 33, collected 9 extra-base hits, swiped 21 bases in 22 attempts. He was likely among the state leaders in hit by pitches as well, taking one for the team 8 times.

Peyton Sterkowitz, Reedsburg -- Sterkowitz was a Second Team All-Conference selection last season, moving up to unanimous First Team all-league laurels as a senior. He's helped the Beavers to the Sectional Finals, with a .541 batting average at last check.
