WisSports.net Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees:

Joe Franks, Pulaski -- Pulaski is firmly a bubble team when it comes to playoff qualification, and Friday's showdown against defending conference champion De Pere was a key game. De Pere went up 27-7 at halftime, but Franks was a big part of a second half comeback that saw Pulaski score a 34-27 overtime victory. He scored all four of his touchdowns after halftime, finishing with 41 carries for 277 yards.

Paris Howell, Wauwatosa West -- The Trojans were 1-3 in conference play entering Friday's game against undefeated Pewaukee, needing a win to stay alive for the playoffs. West held a slim 13-10 advantage at halftime, and led 19-10 going into the final quarter before Howell added two more insurance scores and the Trojans pulled away for a shocking 39-10 victory. Howell finished with 17 carries for 178 yards.

Alec Ogden, Monona Grove -- It was quite the shootout between Monona Grove and Fort Atkinson on Friday, as MG won 57-56 in overtime, though neither team held more than a one score advantage at any time during the game. Ogden hooked up with Kyle Capouch to tie the game in the 4th quarter, and after Fort Atkinson went up 56-50 in overtime, he scored on a one-yard plunge on 4th and goal to even things up before Collin Larsh booted the game-winning extra point. In the game, Ogden completed 17 of 21 passes for 317 yards and 6 touchdowns for a perfect 158.3 passer rating. He added 71 yards and a score on seven carries.

Julian Patton, Madison La Follette -- Trailing 12-0 to defending Big Eight champion Middleton in the fourth quarter, La Follette's playoff hopes were on life support. However, Patton connected with C.J. Moua for a score, and led a game-winning drive in the final minutes, throwing a 23-yard touchdown Alex Berg with just 11 seconds remaining to give the Lancers a 13-12 victory. The win moves them to 4-3 in the Big Eight and just one win away from clinching a playoff spot.

Paul Petit, Regis -- Regis is known as a run-heavy football team that usually only attempts a few passes each year, but in a 62-32 win over Cloverbelt contender Spencer/Columbus Catholic on Saturday, the Ramblers took to the sky with great success. Petit completed 8 of 17 passes for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns, as Regis rallied from a 32-27 halftime deficit. The third quarter was key, and two of Petit's scoring passes came during the period to put Regis up 41-32 en route to the win.
